John Humphrys brings his razor sharp take on the world to IA08 as the after dinner speaker
John Humphrys is one of the UK’s most respected and most feared broadcasters. In the past few months he has been described by various national newspapers as “the most ferocious and insightful interviewer of his generation”; “the most feared inquisitor in the land”; an “outstanding radio interviewer of the past decade” and “a unique figure in national life”.

He’s been a journalist for nearly half a century, working as a foreign correspondent, television newsreader, political interviewer, newspaper columnist, author and, most recently, presenter of Mastermind. He has won just about all the national broadcasting awards going, including “Journalist of the Year” and the Sony Gold Medal for lifetime achievement, the industry’s ultimate Oscar.

We look forward to welcoming the man who has changed the face of radio for an entire generation at the IA08 Gala Dinner on 17 June 2008.

Isn’t it often the case that you pick up the golden nuggets of experience by simply talking to like-minded professionals?  To capitalise on the unparalleled networking opportunities presented by this year’s prestigious executive level audience, IA08 features a number of brand new networking
opportunities, including:

Longer breaks in a better environment
If you consider the nature of the IA challenge and the number of key figures set to attend, then a 20 minute networking break is simply not enough. Extending all the coffee breaks will give you the time you need to make those essential connections. Not only this, but to create a bustling environment in the exhibition hall we are throwing out the built exhibition shell scheme format in favour of an open plan environment conducive to doing business.

A new level of audience interaction – Digital tablets
To find a way forward that is practical, robust and workable for all parties, we need to get all opinions on the table. There can be no false starts; IA delivery needs to be seamless.

To facilitate this frank discussion, you’ll be using an efficient digital tablet system that allows each table to submit their thoughts, questions and challenges to the wider audience.  You can put forward your comments to be displayed on the main screen to the whole audience, send a challenge to the chairman and even target another table with a specific question.

Benchmark your progress by taking part in the Digital Delegate Survey
Whatever steps you are taking to improve Information Assurance, it is always interesting to find out how your department compares to your peers. IA08 sees the introduction of a Digital Delegate Survey, sponsored by Clearswift. Quick and easy, the survey takes no more than five minutes of your time, making the benefits of taking part far outweigh the time investment.

So how will you benefit?
You’ll get unique insight into how other organisations are coping with the IA challenge. Discover what solutions they are employing, how they are tackling governance and compliance, what funding mechanisms they are using and how they are empowering culture change.  Don’t miss the results presented by Clearswift on the morning of day two.
